    im sorry my technique to making a good map is so alien to you... instead of already criticizing it on its brightness why don't you look at the physical similarity of this map to the video, aka the window tables etc. other props will be added while in garrysmod.

    nodraw? if i did that in nodraw everyone including me probably wouldnt recognize what the map is...

    i was going to edit it and post an update... but i have a life and some things came up so im probably not going to get to this today, tell you what, tomorrow ill make the final, and illl post it here, and you'll like it...

    and then meaby when foster's and isaac's straightjacket models are out ill make the video... MEHDI is working on a foster model btw guys

    i mean yeah looking at it now its not the gold award map, but you need to have SOMETHING to work off of i mean really.

    I've been mapping since I was around 8 years old. I really don't think you should be telling me how to map and how to criticise maps.

    And , just to point out , I could probably make a more accurate version in 4 minutes

    Well everyone has their own skill level on making maps, at least he's doing something with Dead space theme. And aliensoldier as well, last time i saw.

    Please lets not go into an argument about "i can do this better", if your going to help out with Dead space please do, other wise, this isn't going anywhere.

    Everybody has his own way how to create maps. Some people first texture everything with Nodraw, some other use placeholder-textures and there are Level Designer applying textures directly on a new brush...
    And nexus is right, everyone also has their own skill on mapping, so if ya do this since your 8 years old Instant Mix, don't tell a beginner his maps would be bad. I'm pretty sure, the first map YOU have created was just a pile of simple geometry stuff like boxes :P

    He could spend more time experimenting and improving his design before trying to even minor projects.
    I had a folder , full to the brim of map files testing each entity , making use of each , weird rooms , scripted sequences , lighting tests etc. Then I was prepared to properly map. He should follow the same.
    Hey , he was the one who provoked it by putting forward that I was an idiot and implying that I had no idea how a map starts out.It was clearly a WIP map , but he shouldn't be releasing shots made that early at this point in time. You don't see maps in the Pimpage thread saying "here is my base layout for a barely started map" - you see ones with hours of progress put into it.

    forgot to mention, i have literally about meaby 1,029 maps in this pc im using right now alone, iv made MANY maps, and really who are you, why the hell would you just come to this thread and try to start fights, seriously... also plus guys, iv decided i will release the ishimura map in a week, altho, its just the outside, no interior. same exact thing i used for my twinkel star remake.

    Looks like the light the door creates is much too big O.O
    Did you used a "light"-entity for that thing? If yes, you really should use a "env_sprite" it looks much better :)

    The room seems to be much bigger than in the game.
    It looks almost twice as big. I'm pretty sure the area Isaac can actually walk on is like a small corridor, not a complete room.

    That is actually really good. Really reminds of the place in-game. To bad there are no Dead Space textures...

    These ARE Dead Space textures, he used my Dead Space textures pack for that map, am I right Hunter? :P

    EDIT: And hunter, that texture on the ground, you should turn it around 90 or 270, I guess it will look much better then :)

    I guess he need to spend the time to work on it better, but not everyone the same. I understand you do yours differently, but, can't expect others to do good maps, everyone has different skills at it. I'm pretty sure i do horrible at it

    Why isn't anyone allow to show wip? i mean isn't that what others are doing here? even on models too, all wip, and people show. Just something they like to show off over as they progress. I don't see what's wrong with showing wip to begin with, even if it looks bad, that's where people would come in and make suggestion and help out where to fix.

    But seriously, if you're going to do any Dead space maps please do, other wise, hunter and aliens are only making any difference doing the maps for the community.

    Looks good so far, just think it need to be more smaller, narrow wise. And a little bit more brighter, the shadow area is a bother. And perhaps try using some of the DS2 textures, if anyone can provide.

    Looks alright as of now, but I have to ask - is it mostly Placeholder as of now? I suppose once somebody release a whole modelpack for DS2 you'll use the assets.

    Good thinkin', in Dead Space (I think it also was in Dead Space 2) there was a corpse I really want to have in Gmod, I'll take a screenshot of it later.

    GOOD NEWS! im done filming the FOSTER SCENE with map and all, thanks to MEHDI for making the foster model and a quick isaac straightjacket model so i could film this, i also made a low red rig texture for him to use of the straightjacket isaac for effect... here are some real action pics from the map used... lights and all, im editing the movie right now it should be done very soon, AND NO I AM NOT GIVING OUT THE MODELS MEHDI GAVE ME BECAUSE I PROMISED HIM I WOULDNT! HE IS GOING TO RELEASE THEM BY HIMSELF!







    trust me guys, im editing the movie right now, its REALLY GOOD and REALLY SYNCRONIZED!!
