Alright, so. Not that I have a problem with them, the game is fun anyway, but I want to read the shit that's on the signs and stuff (the stuff that doesn't matter).
Yes. It takes me a long ass time to play games like Half Life and HL2 because I try to read the shit.
Anyway. In the video settings, all there is is the rederer, resolution, standard or wide screen, and colour resolution. The command mat_picmip -10 doesn't exist (or any other mat command) so is there a way to increase the graphics? I try setting the colour resolution to 32bit but it always resets to 16.

There is no way to improve them. That's the highest they're going to get. It's HL1, it's what games looked like back then.

The graphics are fine, for fucks sake. You idiots need to learn to read. I said I wanted to read what the stuff on the walls says. The equations and the smaller posters, signs, cork board stuff, etc.

Yeah...I didn't think Half Life1 was worth 10bucks before I first played it....I didn't pay anything for it :( Idk if that'll work, that's like waving the illegal copy right in Valve's face.

I was just about to make a thread asking why my pistol looks like a glock and not a beretta, why my shotgun doesn't have the stock folded on top, why the mp5 has a grenade launcher instead of a m16 with a grenade launcher, and why my rocket launcher doesn't look totally awesome. Thanks chap, you saved me a lot of trouble and made my Half Life series play through that much more enjoyable.
Also a side not, should the hud on the Blue Shift expansion be well... blue? Because mine is orange.

The 3D skybox on the cliffside level is VERY nice though, that's the best part of it.
