hypno-toad you should attempt to make a sharper design. Even if you don't like it so much it would be a good experiment, maybe something like this:

Though as you said it would cost $500 - $600 to make another guitar, so obviously you would make a shape that you're happy with.
Yeah, do an Explorer or V shaped guitar.

Darn I want a new guitar. Even though I pretty much got the guitar of my dreams like a month ago. I need to get rich.

There's really no such thing as "your own design" unless you want to build your own metal and plastic parts.

Custom designs will always be something-style, because you need to use brand name/licensed hardware. The most you can really do without either screwing up the looks/ sounds is making modifications to pre-existing body design; which is what I intend to do.

Also, I don't like those axe guitars.

Shitty photoshop job aside, this is the concept of what I want to do. The differences are, I'd leave my finish semi natural with an orange and yellow sunburst finish.

The routing job would be mainly what would be more distinguishable about it, as the top side of the horns would be flat, and the sides of the body rounded, giving the horns a "sharp" look.

That actually looks like the guitar I'll be building when school starts, except mine will have a different headstock, 24 frets, and it will be ebony black.

Nice choice, I haven't really decided what pickups I'll put in mine, but it'll most likely be humbuckers.

Well, would have to do it on a test piece of wood first, to see what happens. It you do it your guitar, make sure the coat of paint underneath the thermotropic paint is black. I hope the paint responds OK to lacquers.

If anybody asks, it was my idea >.> <.<

    Loving my Parker P44

It's so much different than any other guitar.

    Edited:

Palm muting better, you get a far chunkier sound, and mutin with your left hand can cause harmonics.

    Edited:

Anyone Got any tips for barre chords?

The intro to cemetary gates is fucking killing me.
I think we weren't talking about Palm Muting.

    Just string muting.

is that a good idea or should I get something else, I'll have been playing for a year/11 or 10 months before I decide to buy one

The best way to play that five-string bar chord is to set down your index finger first, in a position that would result in you being able to pluck the strings and you wouldn't have any dull notes. THEN once you have that position down, you add the other fingers. Just get that muscle memory in your head and it instantly gets a fuckton easier.
Yeah that's the thing my index is right asshat at barres, and two string always end up muted.

You might just not have long enough fingers. I have the longest fingers of anyone I know and I still have some trouble playing it (it tends to get painful after multiple repetitions)

Any bassists here who have tried the Aria SB 404? Wondering because it's not really expensive and I think it looks just lovely, but my father (who used to play bass) says it's not worth the money and that there's much better stuff for the same price out there.
    Any response is appreciated. :)

Nah it's fine now, and ma fingers are easily long enough lol, seems it was just uneven distrobution of pressure, so one finger ended up just muting a string.

I had a red one for a while. I couldn't really tell you if it was a good bass, though, since it was my first bass, and I haven't played any others. It worked pretty good, as far as I know. I gave it to a friend of mine for a better guitar amp, and he hasn't said it was a piece of shit, so that's gotta be good.

I'm thinking about getting back into bass, though, and I'm considering an ESP B-204 Bass. Does anyone have any experience with them? As far as I can tell, and from what I've read, it looks like a pretty good Bass.

I'm not a fan of that Rickenbacker stuff, even though they invented the electric guitar. All their stuff looks sort of cumbersome and overdone. It lacks stylish-simplicity.

They never looked super fancy to me. To me, Rickenbackers are the simplest-looking guitars. They have the wavey swoosh pickguard and their awesome shape and sometimes a really funky shade of robin's-egg blue and it was instantly the classiest fucking guitar out there. On top of that they still sound better than most guitars today do.

I think all basses should have this sort of look to them, it just looks right IMO.
