Yeah I got this weird problem about a month ago. Any mouse I try on my comp is not working and same with usb devices. They work perfectly on other computers.
I've tried to format my computer. It didn't work.

    Specs:
    Nvidia geforce 8800 GTS 320MB
Intel dual core *insert numbers here* 2,6ghz
    2gb RAM
    nForce 650i ultra motherboard

I'm thinking of buying a new computer, but I got an idea to ask here first.

It could be a number of things, try other USB ports on your computer. Is it only the ports in the back that aren't working or is the front ones too.

Are you running Vista and did you install libusb / attempt to jailbreak an iPod/iPhone?

Make sure you have USB Legacy support enabled in your BIOS.

And stuff like USB controllers enabled too.

Worse comes to worse do a cold boot. Aka shut down, completely power off (unplug the computer from a power source), and wait for 10-15 minutes/press the power button while it's unplugged, then start up again.

I have to do the above in order to get my USB keyboard to work for example. It's weird....

Any of the ports aren't working. And whats weirdest, the keyboard works when I plug it into that keyboard port (that round thing, I'm not sure what it's called, there is one of those for mouse too), but when I plug mouse on it's port, it does not work. It's like my computer has something against my mouse and usb devices >:C

Oh, I forgot to tell, that I'm using XP

Wait, you mean ALL your ports are not working including PS/2 ports?

Are your USB devices disabled in windows device manager?

If it's all enabled and doesn't work in the bios/pre-windows level you might have a fubard motherboard.

Yeah they are enabled and my keyboard uses PS/2 port and it works, but mouse does not.
