Recently I've been getting into early Green Day and I have to say that shit is GOOD. I also like some stuff by NOFX, but don't really know of more generic 90's punk sound, because I am absolutely enamored with it and would love for some recommendations
I also like 90's alternative like Weezer and a lot of Grunge stuff

Go get yourself the album Suffer- Bad Religion. One of the most influential and greatest punk albums ever. Its 1988, but who gives a fuck.
Also, Rancid and Green Day have always sucked, doesn't matter what era.

Oh, and you can automatically spot a poser as one who immediately jumps on the "Greenday ain't punk" bandwagon. Old Greenday was Punk as Old Metallica was Metal.

Some of the later stuff of Oingo Boingo is pretty punk. Try their Boingo Alive Album or Boingo.
