    PRE-ORDER Federation Carrier

    http://forums.startrekonline.com/sho...d.php?t=264149

Introducing the new Federation Carrier – the U.S.S. Enterprise!

Soon all Star Trek Online players will finally be able to get behind the helm of one of the most powerful warships ever built on a Federation homeworld.

The U.S.S. Enterprise features a full launch deck, capable of carrying and deploying brave men & women into battle aboard their own personal craft, and allowing them to land again with relative safety. It boasts a powerful enough engine and core to operate for years away from the nearest friendly port, and can operate as a fully-functional and self-reliant frontline base of operations in the event of an extended campaign away from home. It also carries some of the most state-of-the-art armaments available, and is fully capable of holding its own in a firefight even after its squadrons of fighters have been launched.

Behold our first WIP rendering of this fine ship

That pretty much killed it for me. I mean I did a bunch of STFs, but once I'd played through the story missions I'd lost interest since I had nothing to work for.

Utopia Planitia is on Tribble's foundry

    A few bugs

I believe this bug just has to do with the foundry, shouldn't be on the Event version tomorrow.

Their reasoning is that the ship is so old that it cannot be retrofitted any further, they don't want a Connie that can take on a Sovy or any of the higher tier ships. That is just ridicules.

    I agree with them.

The most we will see is the +1 Connie already in the C-Store.

To be fair they were all complaining on the forums for weeks about how they broke immersion and ruined gameplay through the vile and obtuse notification pop-up.

All those people were lvl 50 and spent their time grinding for MAKO gear with loot notifications coming up everywhere.

Truth is they just don't like the fact they can't get the ship.

They say that the box notification's interrupt their immersion which is the primary excuse for all their complaining on the forums. Immersion in an MMO is one of the stupidest thing's I've ever heard.

My only issue with the lockboxes are the popups that I find incredibly annoying('oh look, xxxgayweeddad69xxx got a ship i have no interest in, heres all the fucks i give') and how you get absolutely flooded with them. With the cardi's, i would end up having like 15 of them in my inventory in one session with no clue how I ended up with all of them.

Hell, I joked that if they put a rail gun on the market that used lockboxes as ammo, I'd buy it.

I seriously hate the scum on the STO forums, they've spent the whole Dev Blog #41 thread flaming Cryptic and PWE for not making new content.

Dstahl just leaked a ton of new information in the thread to shut them up and show how whiney and entitled they really are.

In defense of the kind soul who spent their own personal time making this mission quite some time ago but was asked if they would hold of publishing it so we use it for a fun little Friday the 13th event - that person doesn't deserve the crap laid on them by this thread.

Since F2P launched we have seen one of the most intense 5 week Feature Episode series, a new fully produced KDF episode, a remade KDF Fleet Action, an updated FED/KDF Fleet Action, a Star Trek themed Holiday accompanied by a sale, entirely new worldwide missions on Defera, a fun little friday the 13th episode, and next week you are getting a level 51 shuttle 5 man mission.

On top of that Season 6 is under heavy development which will bring a new Defera like ground invasion, several new 5 man events, new 20 man Fleet events that take place at your starbase, along with starbase construction missions, the start of the PVP overhaul, new Foundry content and anything else like tonight's episode that someone on the team wants to spend their own after hours time making.

So while I can understand the frustration of the last year, since we launched F2P, it has been a lot more content and a lot more on the way.

I can appreciate skepticism, but the hate dumped on an employee who made something fun for everyone to do on Friday the 13th is a bit much.

p.s. lock boxes and rewards in them don't take "mission" resources - they take systems and costume resources (some of which can even be outsourced). Software and Content teams are doing nothing but making new game features and mission content every day = i.e. Season 6

I thought the mission was quite good, the mechanic of a time limit to do the isolinear puzzle was a new element to a mission.

They keep going on about getting rid of lockboxes and start making content for the game. Idiots. The devs get a ton of revenue from those boxes so they can make proper content. If they don't want to the boxes, ignore them like any normal person.
