Hell yes. The music is partly what made that fight so awesome.

Agreed, but the last part of the last battle in KH2 is a fucking bitch. I couldn't do the bit where you're surrounded with lasers then my card broke :'(
That would be Suikoden II. Awesome game in general. One of the few JRPGs that I've found fun.
The Time Devourer.

Metroid Prime's second form.
God I still remember how hard it was. Especially since I had most of my health gone from her first form. I had five health left when I beat her, god that intense.
Ultimate Being.
You can only save once before you start the battle, and if you die while battling any one of his four forms, you go back to the beginning. His attacks are unbelievably powerful, and his final form can only take one point of damage, no matter what gun you use. You just unload on him until another character decides to give you the right gun. :bang:
Then, just to make things worse, when you think you've finally beat him, you have to outrun him, trying to get to the boiler room. Then, when you overload the boiler and say an epic line, you have to outrun him again. Doesn't sound to hard, except for the fact that if you make one wrong turn in that maze of a battleship, he'll catch you, kill you, and you'll start... before the boss battle ever began.
Don't believe me? Look at this.
Part One:
Part Two:
EDIT:
How the hell does the picture keep disappearing?!
In Kingdom Hearts, I had a bitch of a time beating the final boss. I even forget his name, 'cause I've played KH2 so much I only remeber him as Xemnas' Heartless.
That battle was fucking awesome yet freaky! "You've been playing Super Mario Sunshine, haven't you!?"
I remember he scared the shit out of me and I would only play it on co-op with my dad, I was so young haha.
Xemnas had a fucking EPIC battle.
Edited:
Fuck you thread. I'm getting my PS2 out.
Definately Psycho Mantis, never has a boss screwed with my gaming until the boss fight...
Melbu Frahma from The Legend of Dragoon (Best rpg ever imo). Took me around a whole hour to beat and had cool battle sequences (sweet music doesn't hurt either).
And pretty much any boss from the Parasite eve series, they are very intimidating
The Baby boss from the second game was even better
Whats with Parasite Eve and babies?
This isn't the overrated boss thread.
The only thing that made Giygas 'good' was the subpar art made about it. The actual boss battle is a pretentious shitfest made to cater to the lowest common denominator of people who think vague and boring = deep and intriguing
I only wanted to be loved
boss fight connoisseur, eh?
agree x 23663575
I dunno. They have Eve babies, exploding babies, and oversized mutant babies.
Oh, baby!
What, you were expecting an Austin Powers picture?
I expected a different gaming boss, not a quote
Also, in Half Life, I really enjoyed the Mother-Crab fight more than the Nihilanth fight (end boss).
Puzzle quest, this guy can kill you with 2-3 moves, drain all your mana, health, and all the skulls on the grid.
The worst boss of all time comes from the most intimidating game ever: Kingdom Hearts... it is the dragon you have to fight at the last 'world' (well, on the map...)... I spent, ohhh 24 tries at killing it before I gave up for a week, came back, 30 more and I beat it!
The coolest boss I think is when you beat starfox the impossible way and the final boss is not a robot, but a floating brain! (yea, so far the only person I know who did it that way was my dad... and it is real, I watched him do it!)
The worst, even worse than the worst boss was from that game where you get infected and then get that glaive throwing weapon type deal... there is a robot, with miniguns, and rocket launchers that kill you in 1 shot, 50% of the time you are shot behind cover you die anyway, and there is 1, seriously, 1 cover object!
EDIT- just saw the hand from Super Smash Bros. that is a good boss, man the N64 has the 2 coolest bosses of all time!
Fighting Saren in Mass Effect. I hadn't been as excited about an ending for awhile as I was about Mass Effect's ending.

II was great what are you on, III and IV however...
God damn I hated that hammer.
Most bosses from Titan Quest and Immortal Throne. Charon scared the fuck out of me the first time he shot water up through the bridge.
I bet nobody knows what I'm talking about. D:
I skipped that battle using the time advance feature.
I really loved the Ocelot fist fight in MGS4 due to all the nostalgia it induced.
Gruntilda what a bitch

What game is this?
Anyway, i dunno what you think, but i thought he was pretty epic, the boss fighting wasn't too epic, but the character was.

I cried while fighting him :ohdear:
It was so fucking awesome.
Every boss from Phantasy Star Online I had a lot of fun with, but the final bosses always were the most epic. Episode one was nothing compared to the horror of the being from Episode two, though.
Episode One:

Episode Two: (Yeah, no good pictures; found a doodle instead.)
http://www.imagenic.net/images/gi1b25afaie38vx8fk5z.jpg^Was the real bad-ass.
Came with epic music too.
Nihilanth
All of the boss battles in MGS4 were good, except maybe for Vamp, but I'm not sure if you can call him a proper boss. B&B were pretty good bosses too (although I expected a bigger difference if you saved them instead of killing them, not only a camo). But Ocelot/Liquid was the most emotionally intense one for sure.
Also was I the only one that was heavily reminded of the battle with Wesker in RE5 during the fight with Vamp? In both cases you give the boss an injection to weaken him (or in Vamp's case, make him "mortal").
and then turns into a fucking dragon
but really:
and if you're a level 20 badass, you will attack him using only:

Well, alright, II wasn't that bad.
III was painful to play.
IV I actually really liked. Dunno why, but it "felt" just right. Still not as good as I (in my opinion) but pretty damn good.
Cerebulon, Destroyer of Worlds! (War of the Monsters)
anyone?
I just found that to be boringly simple, had no trouble with it at all and even less in co-op.
Good game though.
