I can't find the chatlog but I remember reading one where the scammer was so stupid that the guy being scammed turned the conversation around, implied he was a Valve employee and the scammer gave him his information.

The client, T2Kalim @ gmail, opened the case .. 1943-9943-2465 reporting that the account you are using is stolen.
Auditors “hijacked” is not something that STEAM ™ takes lightly and to look more to the case, the STEAM must first verify the true owner of the account.
