Damn, didn't expect it to get such good reviews.
Looks like I'm gonna pick this up for Xmas.
Honestly I'm not that surprised, since Halo games tend to be good.
I cant wait!
The Halo games are fun and they have good production values.
Watch closely now
Pretty good, just as I expected. I only hope for the campaign to be satisfying.
Firefight seems like it will have a TON of replay value
Plus a 6-8 hour campaign to boot
I'm thinking of getting an Xbox 360 soon, maybe I'll buy this too.
Getting this probably for Christmas/If I ever stop playing Modern Warfare 2 on my limited edition 360.
I'm glad people are finally jumping off the "Halo 3 sucks" bandwagon.
It's a good game and there are quite a few annoying people that play it online, deal with it.
I'm pretty sure only trolls think the halo games were BAD. It's well established that they're solid games.
I personally don't like the singleplayer, but will admit that the multiplayer is pretty fun if you get the right people.
Halo would be decent if Microsoft got off their "360 exclusive" bullshit, I still play Combat Evolved on the PC from time to time.
And this is why kids, why Halo remains a stereotype
Well ODST looks like a decent change of pace from the original trilogy, what with the player being less durable and stronger than the Chief. Firefight also looks fun I suppose, if a little uninspired.
Just wait until the PS3 owners get here (both of them)
"What the fuck is dees sheet! snake owns all of joo noobs lololololol"
I played halo 3 and thought it was a great game with a few flaws, but it didn't deserve its flawless 10/10 in EVERYTHING reviews it got.
It's when the reviewers said "Halo 3 is not perfect" and then gave it a perfect score.
Awesome, i pre-ordered this game a month ago. :)
G4 has given it a 5/5, it apparently is a really good game.
Who woulda thought?
I dunno, The Halo games are half decent, but that's it. They're not amazing, because they don't actually master anything. Everything about the game is only "Good", none of it is awesome, or even great for me. There are so many games that do the main aspects "Singleplayer, Multiplayer, the story" much better than the Halo games.
For me Halo has a really good story. I read all the books(which are far better than the games) and they help alot with the character developments and plot. I hope odst has a good plot like the books do.
The gaming press just tries to tell people what they think people want to be told. Take Spore, for example; shitty game, but because everyone wanted it to be good the press smothered it in 5 star ratings. There are a few good reviewers, though; the guy who does They're Back for PCG UK normally keeps his own opinions, and the normal people who post reviews on shop sites. Of course, the normal people who post reviews on Amazon and Play will jizz all over this because loads of them are 12 year old Halo fans.
It cant be THAT great. I've played all halo games, and as before, multiplayer is all I care for in the series.
I agree that a large amount of gamers do overrate Halo, giving it more praise than it deserves, Halo 3 is a great game, fun singleplayer, great multiplayer but it's not without it's flaws, the singleplayer was dissapointing in some areas but it was fun and that's what matters to me.
I think it should be noted that some people don't give the Halo series enough time to make a decent opinion, they'll play some Multiplayer and say the story is shit, the books are great, I've never heard anyone say otherwise, even if that isn't fully reflected in the games.
ODST seems to be a very solid title that was made in just around a year, they finished the game around E3, if they were to add more the story would be longer and more complex, but that's probably it. I can't wait for the Reach Beta, but more importantly I can't wait for ODST tomorrow/or Tuesday if Royal Mail are slow.
So it sucks
