I guess. Never heard of someone complaining because there was an American flag being displayed somewhere before though. Then again I tend to avoid the news altogether unless it's local.

It depends where you go. Large tourism spots such as NYC or Washington DC have them everywhere, most rural areas and other cities do not. I live in a very average suburb, the flag isn't too common, maybe one every tenth house. (not that many houses either)

It's not being ignorant if I'm not shutting out news and current events. I just wouldn't pick the news as something to watch before I'm about to start my day.
