Idea:
So, not so far ago I finished my Gm_Underwaste map, now I started new map.
I decided to make apartment building in modern style.
But here I faced a problem, 46 apartments. - Each must be different shape and different textures and prop placing. So I just thought maybe this will work. I want a users who want and have no idea for map to make apartment, only 1.
You make an apartment and post a vmf file here or PM me if you don't want people to use it for personal use.
Every apartment will be included. Only 1 apartment per person.
Here is a limitations for your apartment:
WARNING! I HAVE EXTENDED MAX MAP SIZE TO 512x512x256 (Lenght, Width, Height)
It's size must be not more than 512x512x256 (Lenght, Widght, Height) . - So it mean's you can have apartment area like: 256 x 256 units or 128x384, or better just say A 2 dimensions that by adding together will be 512 units.
Balcony must be included in your 512x512 if you want it
Height of apartment must not exceed 256 Units, - You can make 1 floors in it, (Just please put stairs as well)
If you use custom content then do not exceed for more than 30 mb.
Do not put whole bunch of props so that it would lag.
Do not make a whole bunch of brushes without any use
Extras
I will be adding name of creator at each door, so if you want some specific name please specify if no, then I will use your facepunch name.
Also Please specify which apartment number you want to have.
If you don't specify that, I will pick one which goes in a row.
Here are the numbers that are available (I will be erasing them once one of them is used)
Please include lighting, Like color, tone, etc.. You can use any light entities except light_env.
tonemap_controller will be set in map to MinAutoexposure: 0.3, MaxAutoExposure: 1.5

3rd is occupied by bull04 FINISHED - Apartment Attached to Main Block

6th is occupied by Stupideye - FINISHED - Apartment Attached To Main Block.
7th is occupied by Joefrert - FINISHED - Apartment Attached To Main Block.
8th is occupied by DeadChicken
9th is occupied by HectorWiz

Doors lead to each apartment. There will be loads of these halls.
I am kinda confused with floor texture. Any ideas which to use?
WARNING! THere may be problem with entities and outputs so here is what you do: All your outputs you name in your name and some number behind it.
For example I make a doors arleitiss1, arleitiss2, arleitiss3 etc.. You make doors user1,user2,user3. Etc...
The ones that are used in my map so far is some door1,2,3,4,5 and so on, tone.
Also I prefer if you make a main door to left or right side, otherwise I will need to add little corridor.

Too much aprament slots, cut the limit or you will come across source limits.

I was actually thinking of putting some doors as closed, but some apartments to be empty like for sale.

I'd love to join in, but i'm much more of an open mapper. Maybe when I get better at mapping, i'll try one of these.

It's a good idea, but finding 49 people to make an apartment each is... optimistic.
Also, don't take this the wrong way, but this seem like "one of those things" that will start good, get allot of interest, then people will just give up on. I dunno.
I would love it to be finished, but I just don't see that happening. Sorry.
On the other hand; can you make a kind of abstract, futuristic apartment building?

You're never going to get that many highly detailed apartments in without hitting a limit somewhere unless every apartment is literally just a box with a door.

Yes.
But still limit of lenght and widght of apartment must be 512 units squared. I would suggest making upstairs walls same as downstairs. Just in line.
