I agree with the guy that ealier posted nolan should do a time travel movie. Also my dad had a theory that Saito was actually part of fischer's company, perhaps one of the higher-ups who would own part if it was split up. Because he never says the name of his company.

If he is than that's a huge plot hole as Fischer would have had to have recognized him when they were in the dreams together.

If Cobb wasn't dreaming that means everything ended up good, except for the fact that his wife died.
But, if Cobb WAS indeed dreaming, that means that his wife was right and she's alright, although he is a complete moron and is still stuck in limbo. OR, it could mean that Mal maybe didn't even exist, and the movie was just a very weird dream he had.

Is it just me, or is there no point to this movie?
The only point I can see for it is that it plants an idea in your head. All I know now is that I want to learn how to lucid dream.

It's a whole other experience, because the movie isn't exactly at touch with the accuracy of lucid dreaming.

I just saw this. Im probably gonna be still thinking about it in a week. Awesome. And one of the few pieces of art that earn the title "thought-inspiring".
And actually, lucid dreaming instantly sounds awesome, i wanna curve down cities.

Message is a bit similar to the matrix. How do you know you aren't dreaming? I know a lot of times I dream I don't recognize I'm dreaming, everything seems real no matter how unreal it is. Really, how do you know what is real and what isn't?

Was i truly moved by Cobb's character or affection for others in Caprio's performance? I would say no.
The performances were great but the flow and style of the movie did it for me. Very well scripted to.
But it ain't no Marlon Brando in The Godfather, mind!!!

Alright I just saw it and only have one question. What did Fisher's father mean by "I'm disappointed that you tried"?

Fischer said "I know, you are disappointed because I couldn't be like you", and his Dad's response was "No, I am disappointed that you tried." As in, he was disappointed that he tried to become like his father. His father didn't want him to become an old man, filled with regret, waiting to die alone. Of course, all of this was just projections and whatnot but it makes sense in the sense that they were trying to split up his father's company.

when cobb woke up it was 20 minutes to landing time Wouldnt the dream of only taken Lets say 10 minutes real time?

The flight was 10 hours long, so they spent about 9 hours and 30 minutes.

Its not about being able to decide what to dream, but being able to manipulate the dream you're currently dreaming, if you refer to lucid dreaming.

But at the end, was cobb dreaming? The totem shook, but didn't fall. Maybe he fell deeper than limbo into what seemed to be his own reality?

In my personal opinion it was going to topple over, BUT they ended it because they wanted to symbolize him being in limbo, where he was still asleep, and Mal had woken up already. Cobb never had that totem in the real world {remember, his "real world" is a dream), Mal had it. And then Cobb started using it. The problem is, we never saw the top spinning at all in the 'real world' until Mal died. All we saw was Mal holding it and whatnot. So after she died, Cobb had started carrying the totem around, but the problem is, if this is a dream, then he's never actually held the totem in his hands and felt it in the real world. So he just expects it to fall over, because that's what he saw in the real world. So if Mal had spun the totem in Limbo while Cobb was not looking, it wouldn't topple over. But after she killed herself and woke up, Cobb started using it. Cobb thought that his world was the real world (remember he's in limbo), so he expected it to fall over, even though he never actually held it in the real world.
Am I making any sense at all?

I personally believe that the whole point of the top wobbling, but us not getting to see the fall/continued spinning is that, in the end, Cobb discarded any question about his reality and simply chose this one to be his, regardless of if it is or not. That seemed to be a reoccuring theme in the movie.
After all, they destroyed Fischer's relationship with Browning to (as a by-line to their goals) make his relationship with his then deceased father all the more important. Fischer's reality was, effectively, completely destroyed and reformed and instead of one based on rejection, it was the catharsis of reconciliation after deception.
Hell, the whole point of limbo (the inability to escape atleast) was that when you went in, you simply had no idea that you had been asleep or any way of convincing yourself that you were asleep (save the special property of totems), so you had to take the "9mm kick" out. Mal was "trapped" in her belief that limbo had never stopped because Cobb had defiled her totem/tricked her mind to convince her that limbo hadn't been real, leading her to question the properties of the world she was then in. She had seen limbo as inescapable and denied there was any higher more "real" reality until a fundamental part of her subconcious had to reconcile the situation.
Likewise, Saito had built his own limbo around himself, and only the impossibility of a seemingly ageless Cobb and his magic top had convinced him he had been dreaming all along. Ariadne (god damn I can't spell her name) by either being escorted by Cobb who had seemingly mastered the mental barrier of Limbo space, or by way of the least noticed plothole I've yet seen, simply ignored this stricture of limbo and was able to kick back up a level by an apropriately quick and painful splat. Another theory may be that she was the only character who was effectively and constantly rejecting the reality offered to her, which is part of why she was the perfect, or most capable, architect.
Then of course, there's Yusef and the dreamer's cellar, the old man who chided them about the basis of subjective reality, and the entire bit about faceless corporate entities chasing Cobb, much like a subconcious chasing an interloper, but I can't be fucked to keep writing.
Of course, all of this can effectively go out of the window when you count in the clues of the wedding ring, the subtle top drop heard after credits and the diffrentiated children's clothes. By the same token however, it can also be a sign that Cobb, in accepting his reality regardless of its realness, has perfected that world to the point it simply is real, atleast to him. Either way
tl;dr Inception was about the power of perception.
Spoiled for the decency of I can't be assed to know what does and doesn't constitute "Oh gawd DAT HAPPENED?!"

I think the moment they cut it off was genius, so that you can draw your own conclusion. It probably did fall, but I like to think that it didn't but he was so happy that he finally saw the kids that he forgot/didn't care about the totem and whether he was dreaming or not.

No. Some people had the totems. On youtube and ebay. But so crazy ass is selling it for 200 bucks.
