This is my problem right here. People look at reviews before they go out to see a movie.

I used to do this when I didn't know any better, but I realized something. If I was interested in a movie and go read a critic's review and the critic hated the movie, I'm going into that theater expecting to hate it as well, and just waiting for the first mistake of the movie so the entire movie-watching experience expectedly gets ruined for me.

When a critic says that it's great, I go into the movie over-emphasizing the good parts in my head, and even if I don't think that it's all that great, I would exclude my own thoughts of the movie just so I can be like everyone else and say that it's great.

This is my problem with this film. I'll be honest, it is the most overrated film that I have ever seen.

Unlike most/all of you, I went into the movie like I always go into the movie. The only things that I know of the movie is that it has DiCaprio and Ellen Page. Never read a review. Avoided every trailer and commercial thrown at me.

I feel like this movie was an 8/10 at best.

It's a shame how everyone loves to hop onto the bandwagon of it being amazing, or movie of the year.

For instance, last night I saw Black Swan. I had NO idea what the movie was about. At all. Never saw a review, trailer, or commercial. All I saw was the poster of the movie when I looked up movie times at my local theater. That movie is Oscar-type -- not Inception. At all.

I really wish that people could open up their eyes and self-analyze movies on their own without being biased based on other people's opinions, that were originally influenced by others.

It's about time someone stepped up and said something. Reminds me of the Emperor's New Clothes story. The movie is naked ffs.

I knew it was going to be awesome the day I knew Christopher Nolan was making it, went into the film with pretty high expectations... He actually broke those expectations.
Not like anyone should give a shit about reviews, but the critics were right at least, it is awesome.

Also the most overrated film you probably ever seen is fucking Avatar, stop lying to yourself.

I watched it quite a while ago in the cinema, it was cool but I got confused at a certain point. The begin and end were pretty clear for me, but the rest was pretty confusing and had honestly no idea why they were going in everyone's dreams. The parts about DiCaprio's wife I found the most interesting, probably because I did understand what was going on.

I enjoyed it thoroughly, I watched it twice when it was out in Theaters and now own it on DVD.

Sure, it might not be movie of the year, but god fucking damn it's a good movie.

Nah. Avatar had the "Star Wars" effect. It was revolutionary because of the animation and the 3D and the other hoopla.

If you think Avatar is that overrated, then surly, you think the same of Star Wars.

Yes, I am equating space and lasers to blue people and 3D.

If people like the movie, that's their choice. It has nothing to do with "everyone else" liking it. I never look at reviews, and the only thing i knew about Inception was vaguely what it was about and had seen 1 trailer.

I never said that I didn't like it. I just don't think that it's more than an 8/10 at best film. Besides, I am free to express my opinions and participate in discussions as long as I am not violating any rules.

According to you, everyone who thought the film was great was being a sheep and following the critics opinion, all because you didn't like it as much. Now that's just being intolerant, and personally I don't like my intelligence being insulted by some random guy.

Yeah I'm sure that the trailer can tell you if the movie is good or not, but my problem with trailers today is that they give you too much information on the movie and in some cases give away lots of it.

Well I came into this film knowing nothing and I hated it. I only pretend to like it afterwards because it's popular, and critics liked it.

Also, 8/10? This movie is a 4.6/10 and that is a fact.

I did this (I haven't even checked this thread since it released) after I bought it on DVD and it's easily one of the best movies I've seen in the last 10 years

you realise just because people have differing opinions to you (even an overwhelming amount of people) doesn't mean they're jumping on the bandwagon, right? :))

Cobb has been in Limbo before so he has experience, he remembers it all, because of this he doesn't age as well but does grown weary. Saito has no idea where he is and is in the same "fortress" he was in when Cobb and Arthur were trying to steal information from him. Cobb eventually finds this place after a very long time.

You can tell the way he speaks that he is trying hard to actually remember the reason he came in the first place because his mind has wandered so much over the course of time.
It's safe to assume that while they were in limbo many years went by.

    Ok then

It sounded as though Mal and Cobb had been doing the whole enter a dream and fuck around for a while before Cobb pushed to go deeper, and then they went into limbo. The inception dream was quite possibly Saitos second ever time with the machine, and first time being on the extraction/inception teams side of it all. He didn't have enough experience.
