I'm pretty much in love with Metallica since I was 2.

Just found this, it's a Dutch punkband doing a Metallica medley. It's pretty good.
I am amazed. Dutch myself, and damn he pronounces it with just that accent that makes it awesome and not raping the song. Kind of mixed feelings about the Motorbreath part though (one of my favorite Metallica songs).

sounds good, but man, Nice covers though, nice arrangement aswell. I really liked that Austrian Death Machine cover posted a page or 2 back, that shit kicked ass, such a beefy tone.

I've been meaning to check this band out, but they weren't on Spotify.

But a couple days ago I went to a used records store and saw a copy of "..And justice for all", which I've been hearing good things about, so I bought it. Haven't had time to listen through it all yet, but what I've heard so far, I really like.

If you're looking for more albums, i'd recommend Master of Puppets, Kill 'em All, and Ride the Lightning for their older stuff.

Newer (by comparison) stuff is the Black Album, Garage Inc (a covers album), and Death Magnetic.

They have a couple of albums called Load and Reload that are not as well received, due to their sort of Country and Westerny feel, and St. Anger that was universally canned by critics, but i'd suggest if you really like them you listen to them all.

I for one, can't say i dislike any particular Metallica album!

His voice is improving alot over time; i think it's down to the singing exercises he does, but whatever it is, he's starting to get better! Check out his vocals on Hit the Lights at Sonisphere Knebworth, sounds fucking sweet!

It's dissapointing he can't pull off the scream at the end of Phantom Lord. Although he can still do the one in Hit the Lights.

Yeah this, I wish they were on Spotify so I could check out which albums I personally prefer, instead of going by what others think (as everyone has their own opinion).

    Fixed :smug:

No seriously I love Justice to an unhealthy level. It just has so many goddamn awesome riffs and songs and solos. There is not a single song I can even say "it's not as good as the others on this album" to. I think it was their final true masterpiece (as much as I did like Death Magnetic).

Shortest Straw, Dyer's Eve, Frayed Ends Of Sanity, One, ...AJFA, BLACKENED...Justice was just a masterpiece end to end.

Oh yeah, and To Live is to Die, one of my top 3 Metallica songs of all time.

When Death Magnetic first came out and some people started bitching about the sound quality, I had no idea what the fuck they were on about. But the computer that I'm listening to it on now makes it sound fucking horrible... My normal computer and speakers must just be awesome.

The bitching was about how compressed the album was.

They were bitching about how quiet the bass was and how loud the snare was. It would be their absolute best, hands down, if it was mixed properly.
The quiet bass and loud snare crap was about ...And Justice For All, not Death Magnetic.

I think DM had pretty weird production, and I understand why you crazy audiophiles hate it, but I can't imagine it any other way. The 'improved' Guitar Hero versions felt too quiet, and didn't have nearly enough kick to them. For example, that weird bouncy drum sound (is it the snare again?) in the originals just makes perfect sense to me. Without it, it doesn't feel right.

On the subject of production minus the bad reading:

The first two albums sound like they were played in a very open place, no echoes or background noise or anything, they just sounded like they were played atop a mountain or something. The rest didn't have that quality, they weren't as raw, they didn't sound like they were on a mountain, they sounded like they were in a studio. The writing was good, the production was shite.

I fucking wish, seeing the Big Four on the same stage would be the second most awesome thing ever (I think DT/Maiden beats it, by just a hair - mostly because I only care about Megadeth and Metallica).

Unfortunately I live in the US and could hardly afford the price of admission in my state, let alone out of country.

I would love to go. If you buy tickets for a british Sonisphere you get free tickets to a Poland one. Although I can't afford going to the one here, never mind Poland. It's more to get there and back than for the tickets themselves, and it's 150 a ticket. Over 300. And a plane to Poland is probably over 100.

I went to last year's Sonisphere, it's not too pricey if you have a decent enough part time job. I worked a load of nights shifts to go, but i won't go to this years. I'm feeling pretty pissed that they put the Big 4 out in Poland and not in the UK aswell, i really would love to see them all :(
