Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Metallica one of those bands that rarely allows their music to be used in tv show/movies/ads/etc? I only ask because I've heard two Metallica songs (Cyanide and Seek & Destroy) used as background music in NRL games here in Australia and I was wondering if they had to pay for that...

Enter Sandman was on a Sky Movies ad for the premier of Fast and Furious. Only time I've heard 'tallica on an ad.

I hear Nothing Else Matters on a lot of tv shows, and I heard the Judas Kiss a couple of times on some fucking weird injuries show.

I've never heard any other songs though.

Why has OP used Suicide and Redemption as an example for Death Magnetic? It's one of the worst tracks on there.

That's just your opinion, obviously the OP doesn't agree with you.

I think Suicide and Redemption is one of the best tracks, the way the song builds up to the solo's is awesome.

Why would Mustaine kick my ass for not learning the solo to a Metallica song after he left

and I'm not very good so I don't think I'll learn anything complicated

Seek and Destroy doesn't sound too hard outside the solo, I might give that a try.

Master of Puppets is good for your right hand, even if it is depressingly overplayed. Frayed Ends of Sanity is a good one

Enter Sandman's riff is great to play and it's pretty simple

Even if it's even MORE over played than Master of Puppets

I've seen some bands on youtube that were so stupid that they didn't realise that the intro is done on a bass, so the guitarist did it. Sounded fucking terrible.

I did covers of FWTBT all the time. But then again my band didn't suck (that bad) we actually nailed the covers spot on. We also did suicidal tendencies - subliminal and minor threat - seeing red fairly regularly. i am drunk and can't spell that
