Hit the Lights will always be #1 for me. Not just my favorite Metallica song, but my favorite of all time. That song is raw power.
Kill 'em All is probably my #4 favorite album of all time no question.
As is "Seek and Destroy."
And "Metal Militia."
And from Master of Puppets, "Disposable Heroes," "Leper Messiah," "Master of Puppets," and "Welcome Home" are all right up there.
Yup. Seek and Destroy I don't think is really that great but it's a top 10.
Jump in the Fire is such a blast to play it's up there for sure.
1. Hit the Lights
2. Fight Fire with Fire
3. Call of Ktulu
It's hard for me to continue from there since there are so many songs I love ):
Probably the best song on the album though.
I was watching a DVD of the Metallica 2009 concerts, and I felt really ashamed that a lot of the songs I didn't recognize, although the only albums that I don't have are Load and Reload, by the way, should I get them, or skip them altogether?
My favorite song of all time is Orion. Next would have to be To Live Is To Die, Call of Ktulu. I just love their instrumentals.
I love welcome home. Master of puppets is proably my favorite Metallica album.
'Course, I haven't heard them all, but still.
listen to them all now
how can your avatar say metal when you haven't listened to every song from kill em all
You're probably right
I like all of metallicas songs, all there albums are awesome up to and justice for all, but all the other beyond that is where it kinda went down hill, there is some select songs I like from them but there's not much.
Also anybody remember Metal Church?
lol it's not like cliff did any writing on that album other than his solo, it was all dave and james
I thought he was like... The driving force of their thrashy style?
also why do you and Kyle have the same avatar
because it's that awesome
emil also has it
I will admit if you listen to metal up your ass (live demo) you could kind of draw from that that Cliff was what made them thrash (since the difference between Metal up Your Ass and No Life Till Leather is so dramatic) but I would attribute that to something entirely different.
The look on Lars' face at about 2:42 is hilarious.
I'm listening to Metallica live in Iceland from 2004 or something. It was the biggest gathering ever in Iceland, with a staggering 10.000 people in audience.
Too bad I was in Norway at the time, and I didn't even know Metallica.
"Scannin' the scene in wreckjavhyk tonight..."
it's all about killing time and LET IT LOOSE!
diamond head is fucking awesome. it's too bad they don't do even more covers of them. I would like to hear them cover lightning to the nations (including bonus tracks) front to back
Loving the quality :D
That was the best Metallica lineup, Dave, James, Cliff and Lars. Shame it just wasn't meant to last.
yes it wasn't meant to last. no megadeth = sad me
Dave could still have formed Megadeth while being in Metallica
well not really since he formed Megadeth to try and beat Metallica but still.
I think it's safe to say that there had been no Megadeth if Dave was still in Metallica
but imagine where things would have gone if Dave let Dime and Vinnie Paul join
