I never actually planned on playing AvA. Leader of "Energy" agency (Top 10 in Season 2, real veterans) noticed my...decent :)...performance in one of his Merc matches, my lvl 50, my 5 Star Rating (after AvA I started playing AvA it dropped to 4.5 and I never managed to get it up *tears**tears**tears*) and the fact that I didn't have any agency (I just left a Facepunch agency I created to learn newbies how to play).
We had a chat and he decided that I was good enough to be in their A-Team (and eventually be an SF leader, second only to the guy who recruited me).
That how my golden times of GA started.
Now get off my lawn kids.
It was the NA server. I didn't actually play for a bit, but I was on at the times they needed people so I eventually got put in (this is what really got me more involved). After they saw how good I was, I became a more regular member. I was in several matches where we beat out Desirables.
The largest thing that helped our agency was a few VERY good medics, and our very high level of communication. I would later join up to another relatively high agency, but they simply were not as good, partly due to the fact there was little communication.
Also we were not allied with any of the top teams, or any member of their alliance which cost us third place more than once.
Hehe, AvA is like that, at least half the battles are won in the chat. My agency was allied with Mercenaries, Red Alliance and MESA. Hopefully I don't have to explain who they are.
That has very nice benefits of being able to trade hexes that we didn't need for the ones that we did need and not being the primary target of all Top 3 agencies is a nice perk as well.
I never participated in diplomatic battles though (only with Red Alliance, they talk crappy english and no one but me in my agency talked Russian), every time our leader made a peace treaty with some scrub agency, like iCUGaming (lol) I would get disappointed because there were one less team to smash this season.
Played this game a little, and the jetpacks are nice. However, the game is... barren. It feels like a ghost town, even if there are NPCs and players around. Some buildings are just spawning points for junk mobs, there's no attention to detail. And the UI looks like from another century. Should I mention their site? It's like 1999 all over again.
Hit level 28; Stop playing.
PvP got boring fast for me.
Just endure a few more levels. I suggest buying a Booster to break that threshold but it's up to you.
I forgot how fun the lowbie PVP can be, when people die easily! :D
They took all the most retarded builds and buffed them to make them "viable", thus turning a good old GA into yet another derpfest. :colbert:
It might be only me but I can't stand the new gameplay.
GA haven't become worse than before, it just became something different to what I liked.
Enjoy your play.
Ill post the link when the GA forums are back up.
FUUUUCK YEAH! I've been in the queue for that for longer than a year.
I hate the stupid timers in this game.
*logs in* OR *completes mission*
RAID BEGINS IN 79 MINUTES
okay.. maybe some double agent, thats always nice.
DOUBLE AGENT BEGINS IN 40 MINUTES
I've only played like 2 raids and one double agent so far :S
If it wouldn't for the timers, everyone would just grind Raids all the time and devs would have to lowers the amount of REALLY good loot you get there.
I remember when a Raid timer lasted 15 minutes instead of 10(?) as it does now.
If you had a REALLY good team, you could finish a Raid before those 15 minutes pass and just have enough time to start a new one.
Two Raids per hour. That's how I've got my first lvl 50 dye.
I have not got one....
Mind you I have two level 35's a level 48 and a level 43.....
Someone really needs to make a thread for Tribes, I did the last one but it's still called Tribes Universe and I have no idea where it is right now.
Aha oh wow I love this, 37 kills 2 deaths
although we did lose in the end unfortunately, was a stalemate for most the game on the final point
It's nice seeing someone pre-30 have more than half a brain at least :)
Edit: Sorry if that sounded rude, I ment it as a compliment.
Did my first dome defense raid yesterday
The others seemed pretty good and i think most of them were "visored"
We won with only 3 deaths and i found a datastream dye :D
also how does the stupid matchmaker work?
every time i play double agent, its me and a level 30 recon vs 4 level 50s
every time i play mercenary, it puts me in a late game(even though i turned off backfills) and we always lose within 1 minute
umm.. no automerge?
