The Men of War multiplayer trial thread went OK, so I've decided to make another, without the information of the now expired multiplayer trial, so to not confuse poor souls. Feel free to ask me if you want things added to the front page.
For those who don't know what Men of War is, it's a World War 2 Real Time Tactics. It is very similar to Soldiers Heroes of World War 2. Where you command infantry, tanks and artillery pieces to fight.

-A very awesome editor which completely took me by surprise. Great work!

As of the current time, the latest patch is 1.17.5
When you successfully installed it, use the outfront_mp.exe file.
If you need any help, tips or strategy guides, go to Gamereplays where there are many people willing to help.

Is now closed, however if 20000 people join the mowas group, they will reopen the beta, and add the Russians.
3 of the 5 factions are available, Americans, Germans and British. Plus Russians will be available once the group reaches 20000.
Most likely the fourth skirmish mission will be available once the beta reopens.

In my opinion, the SHWWII/MOW series is one of the best set of games I have played.
I still have yet to play it online, though.

Also, single player missions always feel to turn into "Hey dude, here's 10 guys. Now hold off those 60 Germans/Brits and their 20 tanks."

You get 10 guys only if you lose your other 40 earlier in the mission.
Besides, light the tanks on fire, then capture them.

Fire all you want, your Tiger won't penetrate any of their armour.
Then suddenly a troll stag comes rolling along and 1 shots it.

I hate when you fella's complain about armor. It doesn't matter which exact tank you use, check the specifications before buying tanks. The mm of armor, the slope, the mm and penetration of the cannon. For example, if your T34 can penetrate 70mm of armor from 15 meters, and the enemy elephant has 120mm armor from the front, and 65 mm in the back, approach it at the back and fire off a shot. Then prepare to mow down the crew as they exit.
I love the infantry in this game. I always end up using my tank crewmen as decent infiltrator troops. Jack up the machine gun from the destroyed tank and take the dynamite, then go tank hunting. Or camp a balcony in a town.

Also CoH has really spoiled my view on Panzer IVs. They've got decent armour on the front but only the front, and it's a really narrow tank too so it's stupid easy to get flanked.

Not really first-person, more like third-person, yeah a direct control mode, it's useful with tanks and flamers.

It's incredibly useful as an AT rifle guy. Most fun weapon in the game if you ask me.

Also, sniping tank crew with AT guns.
I made people rage by shooting tank tracks from the sides with AT rifles before. So much fun. Then you hide and wait for the poor sod to go outside to try and repair it. Pow, headshotted with Armour-Piercing ammo.

English is the language that should be used, it's the universal language
The fact that russians are ruining my online experience by refusing to speak english makes MP only playable with friends, because otherwise you can't understand what people are saying regarding to the match going on in public games
How am I supposed to understand warnings and locations of enemy troops if only they understand it, the russians don't care about non-russian players
I must have played around a dozen or more matches and only one of them had people who spoke english

1. Speak russian back, which is easy.

2. Find someone with a good ping before joining the game, which mostly means they are in your country.

1. yeah, speaking a completely different language without any training is "easy", I only know three words, "tovaritsh, harasoo and ruki vehr"

I just spent an hour in the editor continuing a map I made a while ago.
I've had a couple of problems though:
Textures tend to be jaggy as hell round the edges no matter what 'smooth/sharp' and 'slow/fast' setting they're on. I managed to partially hide it by using only very, very similar textures for the part I did.
How do you make it so that a vehicle on the map starts damaged? One area is a German supply/fueling/repair depot and I'd like to have a tank sitting in it, but would rather it wasn't immediately operable.
I had a massive POW camp (Well it was more of a concentration camp but don't tell Digital Mindsoft) on the map at one stage but the editor crashed, taught me to save every few minutes.

How the cocks do you people get maps working ingame, mine are always greyed out in the menu.
