This just in from Aperture Science, the big Valve and Portal 2 event to be held at the Regal Theater next to the E3 venue on June 14th has been canceled! Don't worry though, Valve and Aperture promises that the event will be replaced by a surprise!

Aperture Science is pleased to inform you that we have partnered with Valve to announce the gala CANCELLATION of the June 14 Portal 2 event at the Regal Theater. The event will be replaced by a surprise. And even though the cancellation of the event certainly counts as a surprise, we are pleased to further announce that the cancellation of the event is not THE surprise. However, per International treaties regarding the definition of the word "surprise", of which both Aperture Science and Valve are signatories, the time, date and content of the actual surprise will only become available as you experience the surprise.

Look at Valve, teasing us with an announcement of an announcement. Let the speculation begin!

I almost have the feeling that there won't be an Ep3 based on how often everyone at Valve keeps saying, "Episode 3? We've never announced any Episode 3..." with a coy smile.

I am almost willing to believe it will be a full sequel, Half-Life 3. Either that or there will finally come the Ep3 announcement along with news that the Source engine has been dramatically overhauled with some lovely new visual tech.

Even though I'm not really that interested in half-life I'd like to see episode 3 if only to see how it all wraps up.
