combine soldiers have no sexual organs
I don't think so, while Breen may have saved humanity by arranging Earth's surrender, he's obviously corrupt, and if you pay attention to his speech at the end of HL2, he said he was planning to use Eli as a bargaining chip to manipulate the Combine Advisors, so I think it's pretty obvious the guy had his own agenda.gufu posted:
Also it appears he's aware of the existence of the G-Man.
The dead zombie in HL1, it's watching a flickering computer screen. It makes you wonder, what kind of sick porn were they watching?

god fucking damn it sjeiks
"I've got a big bag of crabs here....
And i'mmmm gonna put them in my mouth OH YEEAAAH"
Headcrabs make people go inverted. The backward speech and laugh instead of cry are example. Plus that MY ICING when on fire could be I'M ICING!
I remember reading that the normal headcrab zombies still have the human consciousness, unable to do anything except suffer while the headcrab controls the now mutated body like a puppet. The fast zombies tear out their skin and most of their flesh due to their itchy feeling they can't get rid of. Kind of like how that one spot on your back you can't reach starts to itch, it drives you crazy? The fast zombies have a similar feeling, but multiplied by a thousand times, so they rip their fucking skin out to feel at ease, even at the cost of immeasurable pain. That's why they're so hyper all the time, to desperately try and get rid of that itch all over their body. Fast zombies probably also have the conscious human mind, but when a fast zombie has finished ripping itself apart they're probably so insane they can't be called human anymore. Poison zombies on the other hand, I have no idea. Probably must be painful to walk around with so many parasites leeching on you and that hunched back, not to mention being without skin.
Zombines are probably the only ones without the host's consciousness intact since the headcrabs dissolve the Combine's head entirely.
Hey, the thread's back!
Wow, valve really enjoyed placing creepy shit in the game's sound files. I was browsing the HL2 Leak's sounds again, and I found another unsettling music track labelled as "outside_lighthouse_amb.wav" in addition to the other one I posted a while back.
Checked the thread and this wasn't posted here.
Oh wow old thread.
Can i post??
Fuck those bitches, i'm not gonna get into that water
Holy shit, first page hit multiple over 100:s in ratings.
This concept art.
It has a full page in Raising the Bar.
When I was first flipping through that book at scared the fuck out of me.

The Ending of portal 2 was amazing. And having Wheatley running Aperture Science was hilarious.
I felt bad for the Turret-Cubes though.
what a lovely way to die I guess.
And what about headshots? They still take down Combine soldiers quickly.
If the head is full of tech stuff, then why don't we see any sparks, just blood, when we blast that bag of microchips?
But now come the age old questions. What happens to the heads of the combine once a headcrab has latched onto them? Do they eat and digest the parts and electronics inside? If so, how is the infested soldier still speaking? Is he still partially alive and aware of what's going on? Is he trying to warn fellow soldiers of danger or is the tech inside him simply replaying audio of things he said before death, like a black box?
God dammit VALVe, only you could make such a deep character out of a common zombie.
But that was before I noticed the tires. I picked one up to block the needle things it shoots at you, then shot it right back at him. Took me so many play-throughs to figure that out. I've now decided they are an excellently designed enemy.
I for one , think that they are a well designed and EXCITING enemy, it will scare you to DEATH ,bro. It follows you around , kicks down doors , shoot explosive energy needles . ALMOST LIKE THE GEKKO FROM MGS4.
I say supposedly because sometimes you can hear them curse or express anger, so there's obviously some human left in there. You can even hear a zombine say "shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit"
On topic, I always thought the lady speaking over the intercoms in the city, giving reminders to metropolice and citizens was super creepy. She was probably automated, maybe even an A.I. although she could just be creepy sounding like gman. But I still like to imagine some girl behind a massive screen of monitors, with wires hooked to her head, watching everything. Even watching from the City Scanners. Shes even voiced by Ellen McLain, so go figure.
And especially when she addresses you as "anticitizen one" and even offers rewards to citizens who give information on you or the resistance.
"Mission failure will result in...PERMANENT off-world reassignment" Whatever that is, it can't be good.
EDIT: I don't know why I put on the last bit; I dont remember editing it into the video...
That being said, the process to become a transhuman or synthetic species must be horrifying. Also most of the warmachines seem to be of the same crablike species. Which means the Combine probably enslaved them and forced them into service.
