16 Facepunchers will be camping from this coming Monday until Friday evening. The most ambitious and longest Facepunch meet ever, it should be awesome fun.

Event Details
We're going to be camping in Grizedale Forest in the Lake District. The camping will take place on Monday 26th to 30th July 2010
We are booked into a campsite which provides showers and toilets. According to apwd007, rules of the camp are relaxed; allowing groups and also fires. Prices are £6 per adult per night and £2.50 per child per night.
Here are some pictures of the area we're camping in;
Things you should bring
There is the obvious such as a sleeping bag and enough food to last for the duration. The campsite will have clean running water. It is also important that you bring waterproofs and a lot of warm clothes (fleeces, warm socks…). As we might have to do a shop it would be a good idea to bring some money to buy goodies as well as emergency food.
Some other equipment that you might not all have, but if you do have it then bring it along include: stoves (paraffin, trangias primuses or camping gas stoves)
If you have any experience of first aid bring along stuff like bandages, antiseptic cream and so on. I will bring along a supply of Paracetamol and Nurofen and a spare sleeping bag incase of accidents and a small med kit. But remember if you can bring along some medical stuff for minor bruises cuts and scrapes (e.g.: plasters and shit)

The train station we are headed to is Windermere. To get to the campsite from the train station, we will be using the local bus service. People who are driving to Windermere may also give lifts.

Have a look at the tinned goods aisle in your local supermarket to get a good idea of what to get. Stuff you can just heat up in a hob is ideal.
I wonder what we're gonna do about washing our pots. I can't remember if they said there were sinks or anything like that. I guess we could always use the shower?
Also I am quite worried that no-one has actually said anything about what they actually want to do while we're there. Do you guys want to go on walks, sight see? Go on the boats? Etc
Off the top of my head, this is what there is to do in and around Grizedale:

The first aid room (first aid station was empty last time I went though) has a vending machine and a sink for washing things.

Boat rental sounds wicked, Go ape is fun, done it before, but it's too expensive in my opinion. Booze is a good one too.

At the end of the last thread there was discussion of people bringing food with them. Maybe we could organise a shopping trip to buy certain things on the monday. Such as milk, bread etc.
We could also try organising a group meal at some point. Get one car of people to buy the ingredients and we all work together to prepare the meal.

What about a cooking competition. The person who prepares the best meal gets a prize from MUFC.

There's also a Segway adventure place nearby if anyone is interested, not cheap though, about £40 or something.
Bringing a bunch of tins of soup, beans, packs of noodles and a few beers for the first night, we'll need to stock up at the nearest supermarket of course. For pot washing, bring yourself a small washing up bowl or something.
Not a fan of walking, myself. Might be able to get us some tickets for the boats a bit cheaper though, I'll ask my dad tomorrow. They used to be owned by the railway companies, so anyone who works for the railway can get cheaper fares on the steamer and stuff still.
Boat rental sounds good, as does a few rounds of ring of fire and the cricket. If anyone has some stuff for baseball, bring that too.

thank youu. i'm quite happy to cook for people if you provide me with the means to do so.
tomorrow fin and i shall be hunting the house for camping stuffs, i'm told there are some gas canistars. if someone has a stove that can be used with it can i share?
i also think it would be a good idea to plan a shopping trip on the monday for those that don't want to bring 4 days worth of food with them?

I've just filled up a large gas cylinder and bringing a two hob cooker which people can use if they want.
I'm guessing a shopping trip on Monday at the Co-op in Hawkshead is inevitable, I was already planning to anyway

I have a spare stove top that I could bring, works with the self-sealing screw on canisters.

Just need some pans and then we're done. People who are arriving ~9:30 could do a shop in Windermere after we've worked out what we have between us and what we need to get.

I'll do whatever there is to do, I'm not fussed! Cricket and Football does sound like fun, perhaps we can find some others at the campsite to play football with? I'm not sure who can spare the room for cricket stuff.

Still not sure as to whether I'm taking my video camera but I'm definitely taking my DSLR.

I'll have my iPhone 4 for taking photos, 5MP camera and 720p video, it's pretty good.

I'm going with some mates in about a week. We're pitching up in his parents caravan spot so we don't even have to pay for a space. We'll probably do a spot of mountain climbing (Scafell pike and Skiddaw), swimming, long walks and cave exploring. Should be good.

i shall be arriving with hezzy on the monday (coming down from scotland on the sunday so i can actually be there for a half decent time) and leaving on the weds morning. would anyone be able to give me a lift to windermere on the wednesday, my train leaves at 10.49. i will give you petrol money if you like, it's just i'm looking at info for the buses and they seem to be few and far between, and aren't really something i'd like to rely on...
