That's a hallucination caused by Mad Hatter. Fox never created the cure during AC. Hatter only made you see what you wanted most.

Also the fighting in AC is much better than in AA. The special takedown which you can use after reaching 8x combo or with upgrade with 5x combo definitely makes you invulnerable to all attacks. I tested it with    Titan thug    and    Abramovic    in arena. It's funny actually, I remember having all bats/medals in predator in AA and struggling with the fighting challenges and in AC it's reverse. The armored thugs suck all the fun from predator.

Don't worry about the knife dodge, you'll get used to it and I'm sure you will also learn to take them down with the upgrade, too.

Hadn't Lucius Fox developed the cure? At one point Alfred points you out that Lucius has completed the cure, putting it in hospitals and also sent you the dose (There's also the part where you go unconscious and meet that weirdo guy Hatter)

pretty sure that entire thing with Lucious developing the cure was just part of the illusion of the mad hatter

    Okay, thanks for clarifying.

Also, my biggest mistake with knife dodge was that I simply pressed the mouse 2 button, while, to successfully dodge you have to hold it while all 3 attacks are made. That was my biggest mistake simply pressing it and not realising what I was doing wrong all along, discovered the right combo near the end of the game

Not only you have to hold the counter button but also go direction away from the attacker.

Once you get a special upgrade you can takedown the guy with a knife instantly if you counter him right. You do the same stuff as with normal dodge but every time the enemy pauses, you, too, let go of the counter button for a moment and then press and hold for the next swing. With normal thugs you have to do it 3 times, with ninjas/assassins 4 times.

Yeah but who reads tooltips in games anyway? That's like reading the instruction manual for anything other than a list of weapons/enemies/backstory or doing the tutorial.

Hold back to pull up, like a plane. If you don't he just levels off.

Got the game today and damn as soon as the thugs get knifes it's DIFFICULT. I just can't seem to do that evasion move.
I just jump away from them and use a cape stun. I've beat the main story and have probably only knife dodged twice.

I read the Fallout 3 manual because it was really funny. I hope that the others are like that. I'll continue hoping...

Miracle of Sound made a song for B:AC.
The lyrics actually have some truth to them in the end of the game when    Joker dies, Batman seemed pretty damned sad.

This isn't necessarily related to the Arkham series, but has anybody tried the Gotham City Impostors beta? I'm really enjoying it. It's very silly and fun. Reminds me of Team Fortress 2, but with Batman.

It's actually very easy with mouse and keyboard, too. I only struggle in New Game Plus where you don't have icons and enemies swing those blades much faster. There I only dodge those attacks and don't attempt the blade takedown.

I recently beat the main story, but I'm pretty much unmotivated to keep digging around. I cleared out the Museum (except for one Batman trophy) and have gathered about 16% of the loot, but I just don't care enough to keep going. I feel like Asylum was better to clean up, but that's because I actually went and got most trophies before the end.
Also I hate, hate, hate the AR gliding sections. I literally spent 45 minutes straight on the one where you dive off a gargoyle, turn left, and fly over the subway with that grating voice digging into my head.
I've finished the    Bane    and    Zsasz    sidequests, but haven't started the stolen Freeze gear one and haven't even activated one or two of them.

I guess I'm busy playing and exploring in Human Revolution right now. Maybe I'll return to Arkham City later.

It's just so hard for me to comprehend how incredible this game is. 2011 had a lot of great games like Skyrim, The Witcher 2, and DX:HR, but this game just manages to be better.

Ah yes, the advanced AR training. Without a doubt the one in Bowery is the hardest. That one requires perfect timing. If you stop diving too soon or too late you hit something, plus you have to be careful not to hit the subway entrance.

I think Catwoman is nice when you first play her because her playstyle is different, yet similar. I played AC merely weeks after AA, so I was still in Batman mode. Although it's fun smashing people as Batman, the switch to Catwoman is really fun because of how different she is. Throwing down caltrops and then laying into enemies with kicks and bolas is fun because it's a fast-paced change while still retaining much of the fighting style.

After having to sit through her story mode episodes three times over (especially that fucking Predator 'boss fight' in the epilogue with    Two Face and his Amazing Endless Horde of Thugs   ) due to a new rig and my saves vanishing into thin air, I wish there were an option to skip her shitty filler episodes so I can just get on with the real story. Only use I've found for her in the city itself is scraping insignificant amounts of XP off the streets and wearing down the Riddler secrets counter. Otherwise, it has gotten to the point where I don't find the spectacle of watching Catwoman fight entertaining enough to bear with the practicality of fighting as her, at least compared to the other characters' wider (and just in my opinion, more practical) set of moves and gadgets.

That said, if Rocksteady stick with the free roam city thing and keep Catwoman around, I really hope they allow the player to cancel a whip swing to get around faster in the same way you can cancel Batman's grapnel to build up airspeed without getting too much height.

My problem playing as Catwoman is that she can't identify armed mooks with that "Thief Vision" of hers. It' makes it 10 times more likely that you'll end up on a rooftop with 2 guns pointed at your tits or get shot to death outside the museum.

Oh man, I want to know what kook thought that up. I had to just pounce on him and lay into him, but then he'd fall down and I couldn't touch him until he got back up. Meanwhile, I'm getting shot at and I'll get blown to smithereens if I don't catch him completely off guard.

Although I will admit I thought it was hilarious when he sad "Whoever gets her can be... my number one... GUUYYY."
