Yeah Kepler GPU's are quite crap at computing because Nvidia has capped it.
It's probably to be able to sell the same cards uncapped for 3 times as much for "pro's". A bit like the quadro bullshit.
That's why I told (username) Nvidia that he's better off with the 580. And domino should do a bit more research before disagreeing.
Our thrower enemy animation :)
everything is so bright i can only see some of the ambient occlusion
Includes some slidey bits and a bit of inside work that is still very WIP.
Aforementioned slidey bits
Still really WIP as well.
Is a 43200x21600 texture overkill? I think not
If you're making a mousepad that's gonna stay in a corner in a 1920x1080 render, it would be waste, and you could get a excellent result with a 1024x1024 resolution texture.
I make all my stuff so that it will look good at very close up :0 but it's for the earth so 43200x21600 is kind of small for close ups of earth.
I would like to model or something right now, but my middle mouse button is broken. : /
I'll just go back to tf2...
Why can't i save huge images as tga/bmp/jpg/etc in photoshop?
Killed two mice because of that already.
Did some color correction and made the AO better and rerendered. I guess this will have to do.
If you guys have some critique or suggestions I'd be glad to hear them before I turn this in.
Whoaaaa, wrong thread. Here, have an awkward run or something.
They don't need to make renders when they can use cameras and take actual photos.
that could be a really nice sort of splash-screen for an animation/cg company
Umm...that's not how it's done. If you have a zoom from outer space into a specific area on earth for example doesn't mean you should texture the whole thing with ridiculously large textures. The textures should change during the zoom and the switches hidden by having them look similar enough but be higher detailed and covering a smaller area.
Search for earth zoom on videocopilot.
Decided to model myself a car for my slums, started and finished today. Never modeled a car besides military vehicles so this went pretty well. Perfect for my needs.
progress on the roman armor ish thing
The front of the torso looks unnaturally flat.
Uploading a passworded version of the film for you guys, I'll be keeping it within this thread though... but you can share it with mates or whatever if you choose. I'll post the link up tomorrow, I'd love to see what you think.
Unfortunately, I think it's actually a lot more impressive in the context of the degree show. We've won awards already, and received 3 job offers, which nobody else had. But when you compare it to the plethora of incredible graduate animations online I think it pales in comparison. I'm still super proud of what we achieved though :D
I'll still share it though, you guys were really supportive of all my work so it's only fair you get to see the final product. Stay tuned ;)
Also, one of said job offers is from Axis Animation, who done the reversed Dead Island trailer... think I'm gonna go for that one.
